Serving Northern Virginia since 1994

RSLC’s mission is to provide the highest quality speech and language services to our clients. In keeping with that mission, all of our therapists are nationally certified and Virginia licensed.

Director Ellen Edwards, M.S., CCC-SLP grew up in Silver Spring, MD. She double- majored in speech/language pathology and psychology at James Madison University and then attended the University of Arizona for her graduate degree in speech/language pathology. After two years in the desert, she returned to Northern Virginia to complete her Clinical Fellowship Year and earn her Certificate of Clinical Competence. She has held a Virginia license since 1997. Ellen came to work for Reston Speech and Language Center in 1999 and loved it so much that she purchased the practice in 2006.

Ellen has experience working with children of all ages. She has provided services for children with articulation, receptive language, expressive language, autism and learning delays. She has had experience working with students with learning disabilities, attention deficit disorders, pervasive developmental delays, auditory processing disorders, reading disability, and emotional disturbances. She is an instructor for the Lindamood Phonemic Sequencing (LiPs) program and conducts summer classes for students with reading decoding difficulties.

Ellen is particularly proud of the quality of service that Reston Speech and Language Center provides and she hopes to impart her love of reading to all the children she sees.
